Forge & Fury bars qualify as “true soap” because:
- The primary ingredients are alkali salts of fatty acids created through saponification
- The cleansing action comes from these saponified oils

- No cosmetic or drug claims are made regarding skin benefits, moisturizing, or therapeutic effects
Because of this classification, our products are regulated by the CPSC rather than the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

CPSC regulations apply to all Forge & Fury bar soaps. Our products comply with:
- Fair Packaging and Labeling Act (FPLA) requirements
- Accurate net weight marking (measured after full cure)

Every bar is wrapped in kraft paper and sealed with a label that includes:
- Product identity (soap)
- Scent name and description
- Brand name and heritage
- Full list of ingredients in descending order by weight
- Net weight after curing (accurate at time of sale)
- Company name and complete business address
- Batch code (optional, for internal quality tracking)
Ingredient Naming: We list ingredients using common chemical names for clarity. Saponified oils are listed as their soap form (e.g., “Sodium Tallowate” for saponified tallow).
Claims and Marketing Compliance
Forge & Fury makes no cosmetic or therapeutic claims. We do not use language that implies:
- Moisturizing, softening, or conditioning skin
- Healing, soothing, or treating skin conditions
- Anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, or antimicrobial effects
- Prevention or treatment of any disease or skin condition
- Exfoliation or skin renewal (beyond cleansing)
All marketing focuses on heritage, scent profile, soap characteristics, and cleansing performance. This ensures our products remain within CPSC jurisdiction as true soap.
Manufacturing Practices
Although true soap is not subject to FDA cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements, Forge & Fury follows disciplined production standards:
- Controlled measurements of oils, lye, and ingredients
- Documented batch records with dates and formulations
- Calculated superfat percentages and lye safety margins
- Ingredient handling in a clean, dedicated workspace
- Curing periods of 4 to 6 weeks for product stability and proper weight determination
